City council approves P122-M fund for Legazpi projects

LEGAZPI CITY -- The Sangguniang Panlungsod here has approved the release of a PHP122-million fund for the Legazpi City Planning and Development Council (LCPDC) to be used for various development program, projects and other important activities.

Councilor Vince Baltazar, in an interview on Friday, said the allocated fund would give the city's social development and general welfare of the people a boost.

“It includes the purchase and development of land for informal settlers; purchase of medical equipment and constructions of other health facilities including the construction and rehabilitation of different barangay multi-purpose; installation of street lighting system and for the construction and rehabilitation of water supply system,” he said.

Baltazar added that the allocated budget would be used for the construction and improvement of government structures and facilities and development of alternative power and energy sources.

The funding for sustainable livelihood program for micro-enterprise projects is also included in the funding, he said further. (PNA)
