DPWH completes 10 tourism access roads in Quirino

CABARROGUIS, Quirino, May 2 (PIA)—The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Quirino District Engineering Office here has already completed the construction and improvement of  roads leading to tourist destinations  under the agency's Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP) in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT).

According to DPWH District Engineer Marifel Andes, construction of access roads to at least 10 tourist destinations in the six towns here were already completed.

The road projects amounting to P400,000,000 include the construction of 1.85 kilometers access road leading to the Quirino Tourism complex and 6.99 kilometers NRJ Gundaway-Susong Dalaga, Zamora - San Marcos - Recarte Sur, Diffun and Cabarroguis.

The projects also include 1.060 kilometers access road to Diamond Caves in Nagtipunan and 0.635 kilometers road leading to Siitan Nature Park, also in Nagtipunan.

Some tourism destinations in Aglipay namely, Napipiwongan, Mabo, Dibewen Falls, Pensal Falls and Aglipay Caves got a boost with the completion of the access roads leading to the areas.

Meanwhile, travelers to Ganano Falls in Baguio Village in Diffun will no longer have problems in reaching the place as the DPWH has already completed the construction of the fall’s 0.56 km access road.

In Maddela, the access roads leading to  Maddela Eco-Park and to Governor's Rapids were also completed. The road projects also included construction of drainage and slope protection structures. (ALM/TCB/PIA 2-Quirino)
