Rainy Friday due to LPA, southwest monsoon

MANILA -- Most areas of the country will experience rainy weather on Friday due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said a low pressure area was spotted 960 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

The trough of the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao and Soccsksargen.

Meanwhile, monsoon rains are expected over Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas, meanwhile, will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 25-32 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 25-35 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-21 degrees Celsius; SBMA 24-30 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 25-33 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 26-31 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 26-31 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
