Sen. Villar says newly-elected officials should emulate Rizal’s leadership

(You are fortunate because you do not need to look far from Calamba for an example to emulate, no other than our national hero and son of Calamba, Dr. Jose Rizal.)

Villar, who served as Guest of Honor during the 158th Birthday Anniversary Celebration of Gat Jose Rizal in his museum here, emphasized that the newly-elected officials of the city should emulate the great example of their fellow Calambeno, Gat Jose Rizal.

She described Rizal as an epitome of a leader whose characteristics should be revered and followed.

“Matalino, edukado, matapang, kagalang-galang, at higit sa lahat ay lubos hanggang kamatayan ang pagmamahal sa bayan,” she pronounced compelling the newly and re-elected officials who took oath that day to take heed of Rizal’s exemplar, his unparalleled love for his country.

(Intelligent, educated, brave, well-mannered and patriotic until death.)

Rizal, in her words, is a remarkable inspiration to all and most especially to the youth whom the National Hero referred to as the hope of the nation.

“Ang kanyang halimbawa at kabayanihan ay patuloy nating isasapuso at isasabuhay sa ating pagsisilbi sa bayan,” she said being a similarly re-elected official during the recent elections.

(We should continue to live out and take to heart his example and heroism in our public service)

The Senator left well wishes to the officials of the city and urged Calambenos to support and trust their government leaders.

“Kailangan nila ang inyong kooperasyon. Ang tagumpay ng inyong bayan ay nasa kamay niyong lahat,” she added.
