MisOcc DRRM teams get new disaster manual thru Enhanced Operation LISTO

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental, Oct. 14 (PIA) - A new version of the Disaster Preparedness Manual were provided to Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) teams from Misamis Occidental through the Enhanced Operation LISTO Provincial Convergence and Disaster Resilience Dialogue on October 08.

The teams, coming from all local government units (LGUs) in the province, were provided with the new Disaster Preparedness Manuals for reference in institutionalizing Operation LISTO in their localities and to enhance their disaster management functions.

The Disaster Preparedness Manual provides guidance to LGUs, DILG field officers, chiefs of police, and fire marshals on the protocols and standards in disaster preparedness. Its end goal is to institutionalize the protocols in cities and municipalities.

The key participants of the dialogue were City and Municipal Mayors, Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers, Local Chiefs of Police, Local Fire Marshals, and City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers.

Focal persons of the OPLAN LISTO from the DILG Regional Office also provided inputs during the dialogue.

Operation LISTO educates the local government units on the actions to take days before a tropical cyclone hits the country. The DILG leads the implementation of this program. (Vel Brylle B. Inot/DILG)
