BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Nov. 28 (PIA) – The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) is set to conduct the 'Volunteer Run 5' on Dec. 8 to increase awareness on disaster and emergency response volunteerism.

Randy Blanco, PRC chapter administrator said the 'Volunteer Run 5'  also seeks to draw funds to boost their relief and capability resources.

“Proceeds of the MVR will also be used to strengthen our response and relief capability by acquiring more ambulances, rescue trucks, fire trucks, water tankers and other emergency response vehicles,” he said.

MVR is a nationwide humanitarian run that aims to build the capacity of PRC chapters to capacitate the communities so that they can be resilient  during disasters and emergencies.

Blanco added that a successful MVR will  help everyone prepared  for disasters through their offered trainings for Red Cross 143 or community volunteers on first response. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
