Enhanced Community Quarantine in Davao Region to start April 4

DAVAO CITY April 2 (PIA)- The chair of the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force against Corona Virus Disease-19 confirmed that the declaration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Davao Region will take effect at 9:00 pm April 4, 2020 (Saturday) and will be lifted at 11:59 pm April 19, 2020.

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, chair of the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force against Corona Virus Disease-19 said residents in Davao City has to be guided with the contents of the Executive Order No. 23 which contains the dos and don’ts during the time of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the city.

In an interview by the Davao City Disaster Radio, she said food and medicine pass will be issued to the residents who are required to fill in it two persons, one main and one alternative to buy food and medicines and with the corresponding identification card when doing the purchase.

“The public must be more afraid of the COVID-19 than the ECQ being implemented for everyone’s welfare,” Duterte-Carpio said.

She said 30 barangays from Barangay 11 to 40 are the barangays left to be issued FM passes which will be used upon the implementation of the ECQ.

Duterte-Carpio said that the police and Task Force Davao checkpoints will require the food and medicine pass, that is why it is required to discuss with the security sector how the ECQ will be implemented.

She underscored that senior citizen, pregnant women and minor, as long as living alone can be issued an FM pass.

Duterte-Carpio said that Davao Region residents who were caught in the borders prior to lockdown on March 13 could come to the city as long as they underwent a 14-day quarantine in the border and were given clearance by the health authorities.

“The city will accommodate those stranded in the city especially for those who are not accepted in their respective regions, until the public health emergency is lifted by the national government,” she said.  (PIA XI-Joey Sem G. Dalumpines)
