24 day-old infant among new COVID – 19 recoveries in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY, May 10(PIA) - - The City government of Baguio reported three  new recoveries from COVID – 19  bringing the numbers to 18 or 60 percent of the 30 recorded confirmed cases in the city.

On Friday, May 8, a 24 day old baby boy  who  was laboratory confirmed as COVID – 19 last April 24 when he was just  eight- day old, has recovered and  was released from hospital  confinement.  

On same day, a 22 year old female nurse was also sent – off by personnel  of the  the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.  

On Saturday, a 59 year old male, a expatriate from New York, has recovered from COVID – 19 and released from the hospital after more than one month of confinement.

“I thought this virus is just a joke, pero hindi pala. Wala siyang sinasanto kahit sino ka man, malakas ka man o mahina,” he was quoted saying.

As of the May 9, 5pm data of the City Health Services Office, there are 18 recovered patients while 11 confirmed cases remain admitted in hospitals.    

The city HSO is also strictly monitoring 62 suspect cases that are admitted in health facilities and 485 possible cases that are in home/facility isolation.

The City of Baguio remains on extended Enhanced Community Quarantine until May 15 and the City Government under the leadership of Mayor Benjamin Magalong is continuously ensuring that infection control and prevention measures are being strictly implemented. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
