Davao City’s first district brgys get patrol trikes

DAVAO CITY, May 23 (PIA)- The various barangays under Davao City’s First Congressional District received  mobile patrol tricycles that will be used by their auxiliaries or tanods in security patrols and enforcing quarantine regulations in their respective barangays.

A batch of 37 mobile patrol tricycles were given to the barangays in simple ceremonies Friday morning (May 22) at the First District Congressional Office along Ponciano Street in Davao City.

The tricycles specially outfitted for patrol duties will be of great help in patrolling the narrow streets and alleyways of the barangays.

Barangay Captain Jessie Mar Culaste, of Barangay Dumoy said the patrol tricycles will help them in enforcing various regulations  of the General Community Quarantine.

“Our barangay’s role in the GCQ is the enforcement of the mandatory implementation of face masks, social distancing, no social gathering, these are what we are implementing. The tricycles will help us in patrolling the talipapa (wet market)  and also the interior areas of the barangay where the four-wheeled cars cannot go,” Culaste said.

James Vergara, consultant of the First District Congressional Office under Congressman Paolo Z. Duterte said that office has seen the need for the tricycles in the barangay. “ In fact this should have been released as early as March  but naipit man gud ta, pero karon naka GCQ naman ta, we found an opportunity to distribute them right now,” Vergara said.
