LTFRB-NCR partners with PisoPay to develop online processing system

CALOOCAN CITY, May 23 (PIA) --The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board - National Capital Region (LTFRB-NCR) has established a partnership with PisoPay.Com to develop a fast and convenient online transaction system for the Agency.

Regional Director (RD) Atty. Zona Russet Tamayo on Friday (May 22) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with PisoPay.com, financial technology and licensed remittance company, for the development of the Public Transport Online Processing System (PTOPS) at the LTFRB Central Office.

The ceremonial signing was witnessed by LTFRB Chairman Atty. Martin B. Delgra III, PisoPay.com Inc. President Ariel Surca, and LTFRB Technical Division Chief Joel Bolano, and PisoPay Technology and Strategic Officer Engr. Ephrem Dela Serna.

“By designing a system which would allow transactions to be made online, thus making services accessible to stakeholders at the comfort and convenience of their own homes, we are gearing up for the new normal,” Tamayo said.

“An "Innovation Towards Modernization" is what LTFRB-NCR envisions to follow upon lifting of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) set forth to mitigate the impact of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the region.”Tamayo emphasized.

PisoPay.Com, in its objective to support government efforts in ensuring public safety amidst this pandemic, offered their services to design and develop the online facility for free.

PTOPS would not only allow for faster and more convenient transactions between stakeholders and the agency, it would also follow the continuous practice of social distancing measures.

PTOPS is expected to be fully operational by mid-June 2020. (LTFRB-NCR/PIA-NCR)
