OSH-IT to inspect business establishments in Dasmarinas City

Dasmariñas City, Cavite Jun 29 (PIA) -- About 596 business establishments in this city is set to be inspected by the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Inspection Team to ensure the IATF-DOH protocols on minimum safety standards are being followed.

This is pursuant to Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Department of Health (DOH) Joint Circular No. 1 s. 2020 enjoining the city government of Dasmariñas to create its Occupational Safety and Health Committee under which the OSH Inspection Team was formed.

The team's objective is not limited to the inspection of health safety protocols and guidelines on COVID-19 control but also the compliance with the laws, issuances and ordinances pertaining to the securing of business permits and licenses.

They are also tasked to provide recommendations based on the ocular inspection for the compliance of the said establishments that include but are not limited to the revocation of business permit and/or closure of the establishment. 

As of June 24, 2020 the inspection team had visited 291 establishments out of which 112 establishments were ordered closed/temporary closed due to non-compliance.

Likewise, seven colleges and universities in the city were issued a notice/letter for proper guidelines and minimum health protocols for essential services and face-to-face transactions in accordance with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and DOH guidelines.

An ongoing spot inspection of all the lying-in clinics, medical laboratories, private hospitals and dental clinics are underway to ensure the compliance with DOH guidelines and minimum health protocols on COVID-19 and on toxic and hazardous waste management. As of June 26, 2020, about 26 establishments were already inspected.
