Valenzuela issues guidelines as restaurant dine-in begins today

CALOOCAN CITY, June 15 (PIA) -- The Valenzuela City Government has shared some guidelines to follow by restaurants and other food establishements as they partially resume dine-in services starting today.

"Simula June 15, 2020, papayagan na ang DINE-IN sa mga kainan basta’t masusunod ang itinakdang Health Safety Standards at limitado lang sa 30% seating capacity ang ipatutupad. Ito ay alinsunod sa IATF Resolution No. 45 Series of 2020," the local government said.

Part of the new rules on physical distancing in these establishements include spacing tables at least one meter apart and installing acrylic or clear barriers in between customers should be done, whenever possible. Other health protocols, such as wearing of masks and disinfection, must also be observed.

Here are the protocols posted by Valenzuela City in its official Facebook page:

To recall, the COVID-19 task force has approved the recommendation to allow restaurants located in general community quarantine (GCQ) areas to partially resume dine-in services, citing the need to reopen the economy.

Authorities said this would allow restaurants to gradually offer dine-in services to help workers who have been struggling due to strict stay-at-home rules.

This is also some kind of a preparation for the eventual de-escalation of Metro Manila and similar areas from GCQ to modified GCQ in the near future, they said.

Restaurants in other parts of the country under modified GCQ have been allowed to reopen at 50 percent capacity. (PIA NCR)
