DavNor Execs grateful for ELCAC
DAVAO DEL NORTE, Feb. 24 (PIA) – Governor Edwin I. Jubahib, Asuncion Mayor, Eufracio P. Dayaday Jr., and Kapalong Mayor, Maria Theresa Timbol, have expressed their gratitude to the National Government’s Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC).
In a video message for the Virtual Launch of Barangay Development Program (BDP) on February 24, 2021, Mayor Dayaday Jr. said that the people of the Municipality of Asuncion have received projects such as farm-to-market roads, support from the Department of Agriculture (DA), health services from the Department of Health (DOH), and livelihood programs from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
“Dako kaayo ang epekto ang programa sa peace and order tungod kay ang atoang mga katawhan nga didto sa layong bukid naka benepisyo tungod kay nakaabot na ang atoang mga government services didtong mga lugara (The Peace and Order program had such a huge effect because government services have reached our people in the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA)),” he added.
Likewise, Mayor Timbol said that in the Municipality of Kapalong, Barangay Tiburcia and Barangay Semong are beneficiaries of P20-million-worth of projects.
Of these projects, Timbol said that road concreting is the identified priority.
Supporting this, the Punong Barangays of Semong and Tiburcia stated the improvements brought by ELCAC.
“Sa Barangay Semong, ako na gyung na feel nga safety ang atong mga constituent tungod kay ang presensya sa armadong pakigbisog, wala na gyud sa akoang barangay (In Barangay Semong, I can really feel that our constituents are safe because the presence of the armed rebels is no longer in the barangay),” Punong Barangay Semong, Hon. Felipe Portes, said.
“In regards sa project nga among madawat diri, dako gyud kaayo ni ug ikatabang sa mga katawhan diri sa Barangay kay magamit gyud nga pagpagawas sa mga produkto padulong sa merkado, mapasayon ang ilang panginabuhi sa adlaw-adlaw (In regards to the project we will receive here, that is such a huge help to the people of this barangay because we will be able to use that to bring our products to the market, making our daily livelihood easy),” Punong Barangay Tiburcia, Hon. Celso Quilla, said.
For Governor Edwin I. Jubahib, he assured that the province under the banner, One DavNor One Team, will continue to deliver services and access to programs to the people.
Jubahib is positive that through hard work and teamwork, peace will be achieved.
“Dili lamang sa probinsya kundili lakip na sa rehiyon ug tibuok nasud Pilipinas (Not only in the province but also the region and in the entire Philippines)," he said. (Jan Vincent Leuterio/PIA-XI)
