P14.5 fire stations soon to rise in Antique towns

SAN JOSE, Antique, March 30 (PIA) - - The fire stations in Sebaste and Patnongon towns, which belong to the northern and central parts of Antique, respectively, will soon rise after a successful groundbreaking ceremony held recently.

Bureau of Fire Protection 6 Regional Director Senior Supt Jerry D Candido, in his message during the program, lauded the support of the local officials to ensure that their constituents will avail of the services of the BFP.

“Without the support of LGU we cannot maximize our services," he said.

The Sebaste fire station costs P7.2 million while that of Patnongon is P7.3 million, funded under Philippine International Trading Corporation project.

“I am so proud of what the Sebaste Fire Station has accomplished. Finally, the Bureau of Fire Protection will have its building in Sebaste,” said Sebaste mayor Gaseva Recopuerto.

On part of Patnongon mayor Evon Nee B. Baldestamon, she pledged to continue her full support to the mandate and vision of the BFP to keep her constituents safe.  

It was in 2016 when both municipalities donated the lot to the BFP which is needed before they can be given the budget for the building.

Present during in the groundbreaking event of for the construction of the fire stations were retired BFP Insp Vincent Rubio and SFO3 Jerry Pon-an, Officer-In-Charge of Sebaste and Patnongon, respectively, who, during their incumbency lobbied for the lot donation.

Both are very grateful that the present assigned personnel will have their own home and can serve the people better.

The activities were also graced by Municipal Fire Marshal/Officer-In-Charge, Municipal Fire Prevention Officers, Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal Antique personnel, local government officials and employees. 

It can be recalled that the municipality of Sebaste donated 405 square meters Patnongon donated 400 square meters. (BFP/PIA-Antique)
