ZamPen info volunteers join AIDS candlelight memorial

ZAMBOANGA CITY, May 16 (PIA) – Everyone is making their fair share of effort to remember those who have been fighting with HIV and AIDS.

The Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-9 posted in their social media a short video clip of information volunteers from different parts of the region doing a ‘selfie’ with a candlelight in support to this year’s observance of International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Day.

Following the theme “We Remember, We Take Action, We Live Beyond HIV”, the information volunteers vowed to support the yearly campaign with its weeklong activities set to be launched in various areas of the country.

Regional Director Noemi Edaga of PIA said the participation of the information volunteers’ (IVN) network is an affirmation of everyone’s concern and show of solidarity for the cause.

“We light the candles because we want to remember and honor those who dedicated their lives in helping people living with and affected by HIV,” she said.

Some of the activities include webinar on HIV, online mass, HIV awareness, art virtual exhibit, inter-agency online candle-lighting ceremony, among others which are organized by Philippine HIV and AIDS Network (PhilCHAN), in collaboration with the Philippine National AIDS Council (PNAC) and Pinoy Plus Advocacy Pilipinas, Inc. (PPAPI).

In a Facebook post with the lined-up activities, PNAC encouraged the public to join the observance of this year’s IACM. (NBE/EDT/PIA9-Zamboanga del Norte)
