10K vacancies at stake in Soccsksargen virtual job fair

KORONADAL CITY – More than 10,000 local job vacancies will be available to job seekers from parts of Region 12 (Soccsksargen) in the 2021 Independence Day virtual regional job fair on Saturday.

Raymundo Agravante, director of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 12, said in an advisory on Friday at least 27 employers in the region have enlisted for the activity, which is part of the nationwide Kalayaan 2021 Online Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Job and Business Fairs.

As of Friday afternoon, he said, 1,917 job applicants have registered through the Workbank, an online job site that connects Filipinos to work opportunities across the country.

A total of 10,124 job offers are available for various positions, among them in education and training, retail services, accounting and finance, administrative or office support, information and communications technology, human resource and recruitment, and engineering, he added.

Job seekers may register and file their applications through the Workbank job portal until June 14.

Agravante said their central office opted anew to hold the job fair virtually due to the prevailing travel and physical contact restrictions in the wake of the continuing pandemic.

“(We continue to) innovate using modern technology to bring our services to the people,” he said.

On Saturday, he said they would also hold a ceremonial release of the financial assistance under the Covid-Adjustment Measures Program or CAMP 2 to selected establishments and workers in the region. (PNA)
