2 suspects nabbed, P680-K shabu seized in Bulacan

MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan – Some PHP680,000 worth of shabu was seized from a convicted drug peddler and his cohort during a buy-bust at the parking lot of a convenience store in Barangay Muzon, City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan Sunday night.

In a statement on Monday, Col. Lawrence Cajipe, provincial director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, identified the suspects as Marlon Abarca, of Barangay Mayamot, and Ron Mark Reyes of Barangay Cupang, both in Antipolo City.

He said Abarca was previously arrested for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, but was released by virtue of plea bargaining.

Based on a police report, authorities launched a buy-bust wherein an undercover intelligence operative, acting as a poseur buyer, bought a plastic containing suspected shabu from the suspects.

Confiscated during the operation were some 100 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of PHP680,000, two .38 caliber revolvers with live ammunition, a cellular phone, assorted IDs, a black Toyota Vios and bundles of boodle money.

The suspects and recovered pieces of evidence are now under the custody of authorities.

"Bulacan police remains relentless and vigorous in implementing its intensified campaign against illegal drugs as directed by the Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon, Police Regional Office 3 regional director," Cajipe said. (PNA)
