Cebuano News: Paglimpyo sa suba sa NegOr gitakda Pebrero 22

DUMAGUETE CITY, Pebrero 13 (PIA)—Mangulo ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) sa Negros Oriental sa paglimpyo sa tulo (3) ka suba sa probinsya: ang Banica River sa Dumaguete City, Panam-angan sa Bais City ug Sicopong sa Santa Catalina.

Kini nga kalihokan subay sa mando ni DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu nga gilatid sa Republic Act 9275 ang Philippine Clean River Act of 2004 nga hatagan ug pagtagad ang pagpahi-uli sa kahimtang sa mga suba sa tibook nasud tumong nga makab-ot ang “sustained river ecosystems.”

Pinaagi sa proyekto nga RIVERs for Life (Recognizing Individuals/Institutions towards Vibrant and Enhanced Rivers) hatagan ug katumanan ang RA 9275 sugod karon Pebrero 22 diin ilusad ang gitakdang “simultaneous river clean up.”

Sa gipahigayon nga planning workshop sa mga”focal persons” gikan sa nagkadaiyang ahensya sa gobyerno, academe, local government units (LGUs), barangay officials, non government organizations, (NGOs), Department of Health (DOH), Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO), Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) ug business sector adunay tulo (3) ka grupo nga mag bahin sa paglimpyo sa tulo ka suba.

Ang Banica Team gilangkoban sa 12 ka barangays sa Dumagauete City ug 8 sa Valencia lakip na ang Foundation University, Silliman University, Rural Health Unit of Valencia, Department of Health, City Health Office, ENRO, Silliman University Medical Center Foundation, Incorporated (SUMCFI), Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital (NOPH), DILG, PIA, Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Friends of the Environment in Negros Oriental (FENOR), Hotel Palwa, ug Environment and Natural Resources Management Division sa Negros Oriental.

Ang Banica team mag-abot alas 6 sa buntag sa Pebrero 22 sa Banica River spillway likod sa Foundation University alang sa opening program.

Human sa opening program ang grupo magbahin-bahin ug panglimpyo ngadto sa upstream, midstream ug downstream sa Banica River.  

Himoon usab ang “segregation of wastes” sa makolekta nga basura nga hakoton sa ENRO ug timbangon aron masayran sa sunod nga paglimpyo kung ni kunhod ba ang basura sa suba sa Banica.
