DPWH resumes road repair in NCR

QUEZON CITY, June 21 (PIA)--The Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) resumes its concrete re-blocking and repair of various roads in Metro Manila on weekend that started 11 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2019 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2019.

DPWH-NCR Director Ador G. Canlas said that the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has given clearance to conduct reblocking activities covering the areas of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), specifically the southbound directions from fronting Guzent Construction Sales and Rental, 2nd lane from sidewalk; from Magallanes-Baclaran Bus Stop to Magallanes-Alabang Bus Stop, outer lane; from before Aurora Boulevard, outermost lane; and from Aurora Boulevard to Arayat Street, innermost lane; and at the northbound direction from before General Roxas Avenue to after Aurora Boulevard, 1st and 2nd lane from sidewalk, intermittent section.

Road re-blocking activities were also implemented at the following roads in Quezon City: southbound direction of Katipunan Avenue from after Aurora Flyover to P. Tuazon Boulevard, truck lane; at the eastbound direction of General Luis Street near Banahaw Street; at the westbound direction of Quirino Highway from Kingfisher Street to Primerose Street, 1st lane from sidewalk; and from Regalado Avenue fronting SM Fairview, 2nd lane from sidewalk.

Other roads that undergo road reblocking repair were: northbound directions of Circumferential Road 5 (C5) fronting SM Aura and Market Market, inner lane; and España Boulevard from Don Quijote to Ma. Cristina Street.

Prior to the re-blocking activities, motorists were advised to take possible alternate routes with the anticipation of the heavy flow of traffic along affected areas. (PIA InfoComm/DPWH)
