Eastern Samar MSMEs join BAHANDI Trade Fair in SM Megamall
BORONGAN CITY, Sept. 26 (PIA) -- Some 20 Micro-Small Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) local exhibitors from Eastern Samar will be joining the BAHANDI Visayas Trade Fair 2019 on October 3-7, 2019 at SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
According to Ms. Nelly Alpez, Business Development Division (BDD) Analyst of DTI-Provincial Field Office, there are 150 producers/exhibitors of native food delicacies, trendy home style items and processed foods products from the six provinces of Eastern Visayas that will be joining BAHANDI Trade Fair at SM Megamall.
The event provides a marketing platform for big buyers to meet and source products that are of high quality and unique in Eastern Visayas.
The 20 MSMEs from Eastern Samar are: FEA Agrarian Reform Cooperative (ARC) - (Salcedo) – cassava chips and cassava flour; Taytay Abante Kababayen-an Asso. (Guiuan) – dried fish; KIKA GIOS Anorunhon Women’s Asso. (Mercedes) – banana chips and banana flour; Alyansang Samahan para sa Kaunlaran at Pangkabuhayan (Guiuan) – cassava chips and cassava crisps; JLL Tumeric Producer (Guiuan) – turmeric products; Discar Indigenous Producer (Salcedo) – turmeric and ginger powder.
Other exhibitors are, Pamela’s Box (Guiuan) – pastillas, seaweed pickles, etc.; Eastern Samar Entrep. Producers Agrarian Reform Cooperative (Salcedo) – cassava chips and other cassava products; Island’s Best Food (Guiuan) – calamansi concentrate, calamansi juice, jelly calamansi extract; Tripple A Food (Quinapondan) – banana chips and banana flour; Daiz Enterprises (Guiuan) – shellcraft, wall clock, mirror, etc.; HABAG Natural Product Workers Asso. (Guiuan) – organic soap and bath soap; Manicani Weaver’s Asso. (Guiuan) – bags, handicraft made of pandan, detergent soap from coco/herbal oil;
Still others are, Bitaogon People’s Asso. (Guiuan) – bath soap from calamnasi extract/coco; Maydolong ARC (Maydolong) – pineapple vinegar, pineapple jelly and jam; San Eduardo ARC (Oras) – coco wine and coco vinegar; Guiuan Integrated Micro-Enterprises Asso. (Guiuan) – shellcraft, delicacies, etc.; Mother Ignacia Women’s Asso. (LLorente) - turmeric and herbal tea; K and KIA Cakes and Pastries (Borongan) – salokara, bakintol, cassava roll, etc.; and Yaning Delicacies (Dolores) – toasted puto and cassavachips.
Alpez disclosed that the region’s target sales is P35-M and for Eastern Samar is P1-M total sales.
Last year (2018), the region’s total sale was P49-M compared to the target sale which is only P23-M while for Eastern Samar, the total sale is P3.9-M compared to the target sale of only P 3.6-M.
DTI-Eastern Samar, Provincial Director Ruthelma Samonte is inviting Estehanons who are residing in Metro Manila to visit and buy the local products from Eastern Samar and other provinces in the Eastern Visayas during the five-day BAHANDI Trade Fair.
In line with this big event, the Provincial Government of Eastern Samar through the Provincial Tourism Office (PTO) will participate through photo/video exhibit from the tourism sites/destinations of the different municipalities of Eastern Samar in order to attract more local and international tourists.
BAHANDI 2019 will be an avenue to forge long-term partnerships with domestic and international buyers.
