Partly cloudy skies, isolated rain showers Sunday

MANILA -- Partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will prevail over the archipelago due to localized thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Sunday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the center of Severe Tropical Storm "Onyok" was estimated at 615 kilometers (km) east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 115 km/h. It is moving west at 30 km/h.

It added that Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands, Cagayan Valley, and the rest of the Bicol Region will experience rains with gusty winds.

It also warned the public against possible flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms.

Light to strong winds will blow all over the country while coastal waters along all areas will be slight to moderate.

Strong coastal waters are expected at the northern and eastern section of Northern Luzon.

The minimum temperature for the day is 23.8°C while the maximum temperature is at 32.8°C, PAGASA said. (PNA)
