ITCZ to bring rains over Palawan, Mindanao

MANILA -- Rains will pour over Palawan and parts of Mindanao due to an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) on Thursday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Caraga, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and southern Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon (amihan) will continue to bring light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains while the Visayas and the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Strong winds will blow over the northern portion of northern Luzon, which will bring rough coastal waters. The rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong northeast winds with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Metro Manila temperature ranges from 23-32 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 19-26 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 14-23 degrees Celsius; SBMA 23-31 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 24-30 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-31 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 24-33 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
