Biz establishments in Pasig told to file 'notice' to resume ops

MANILA – Business establishments in Pasig City that have already opened or are about to resume operations during the implementation of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) have until Friday to submit a "notice to operate".

Mayor Vico Sotto said the submission of notice would help the local government monitor the establishments' compliance with health protocols.

"In addition to this, reminder to all business establishments to strictly enforce social distancing. Visual cues and physical barriers are highly encouraged," Sotto said in his Viber message to Pasig residents late Tuesday.

He said the notice must be submitted to the Pasig City Business and Licensing Office (BLO) under Executive Order PCG-25, series of 2020, "providing for the guidelines on the resumption of operations of allowable establishments, businesses, sectors, and industries during the MECQ."

The submission of the notice can be done online by filling up the forms through https://bit.ly/pasignoticetooperate, Sotto said.

The form can also be downloaded at https://bit.ly/pasignoticetooperatedownload. The filled-up form must be e-mailed to businesspermit@pasigcity.gov.ph.

Business operators who fail to comply may face suspension of their business permits for seven days.

He added that establishment owners' business permits may also be suspended if they are unable to enforce social distancing within their business premises.

Sotto urged the residents to cooperate with the local government in implementing safety and health protocols amid the city's transition to MECQ.

"We also ask the general public to help us report violating establishments. Just send pictures to the accounts in the pinned message," he said.

Some 10,000 business establishments have reopened in the city. (PNA)
