Bohol leads in SAP payout implementation in CV
CORTES, Bohol, May 10 (PIA) -- With 58 percent of its local government units having completed its Special Amelioration Program (SAP) payout, the province of Bohol leads among Central Visayas provinces in releasing the public health emergency cash assistance to its low-income families as incorporated in the Bayanihan To Heal as One Act.
In its SAP implementation update for non-4Ps as of May 8 noontime, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Region 7 said 28 of the 48 towns and one city in Bohol have completed the distribution of the P6,000 assistance to families affected by the COVID-19 medical emergency.
Coming closely after Bohol is Negros Oriental paying out 14 of its 25 towns (56 percent).
Cebu province comes in third, paying out SAP to beneficiaries in 15 local government units (LGUs) over its 53 LGUs, while Siquijor now stands at 17 percent paying out to beneficiaries in one LGU among its total six LGUs.
According to the report shared by DSWD-7 Regional Information Officer Leah Quintana, 164,271 Boholanos have received a total of P985,626,000 of the P1,090,260,000 (58 percent) as the government’s allocation for Bohol’s low-income families.
The government disbursed amount constitutes 90.40 percent of the total allocation for Bohol.
In DSWD-7’s List of 58 Top Performing LGUS in SAP implementation, 28 Bohol towns populate the top ranked performing LGUs in Central Visayas.
Among the Bohol towns in the list are: Pilar with 3119 beneficieries, Loboc (2,610), Loay (2,671), Dimiao (2059) and San Isidro.
Trinidad town with 3,859 beneficiaries sits at 7th place while Getafe (2,970) and Sagbayan 8th with 2,847 beneficiaries sits on the 16th and 17th places.
Twenty-fourth on the list is Alburquerque with 1,770 beneficiaries, Balilihan (2,593), Sikatuna (1,083), Clarin (2,722), Dagohoy, (1,880), Duero (2,465) and Guindulman are on the 28th to 33rd ranks.
Sierra Bullones (3,400) sits on the region’s 35th while Antequera (2,295), President Carlos P. Garcia (2,203), Anda (2,250) and Carmen (5,632) occupies the 37th to 40th rank on the regional list.
Candijay (3,576), Corella (1,402) and Danao (1,920) occupy the 45th to 47th rank while Calape (4,168), Catigbian (3,104), San Miguel (2,968), Talibon (8,288) and Batuan (1,731) are on the 50th to 54th in the list.
DSWD-7 expects full distribution of the SAP would be completed on May 10, as Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año has announced no more extensions in the deadline for the distribution of the government’s cash assistance to poor families.
It may be recalled that the deadline of the payout was on May 7, but local officials have asked for an extension so they could complete the handing of the SAP to qualified beneficiaries.
DILG also said there will be no more extensions and those who could not finish by Sunday would be asked to show cause.
In Regio 7, DSWD-7 has already paid out P4.2 billion of the P6.3 billion alloted for 1,058,075 family beneficiaries.
As of noontime of May 8, DSWD-7 has accomplished 66.27 percent in the payout of the entire amount to be flooded to the region in such a time when the poor have sought help in this medical health emergency. (rahc/PIA-7/Bohol)
