LUCENA CITY, June 29 (PIA) -- The National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) is set to virtually observe the 26th National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) on September 1-7, 2020.

With the theme, “Komunidad ay Pangalagaan Nang Pandemya at Krimen ay Maiwasan,” all government agencies are enjoined to develop and implement projects and activities that focus on prevention as an approach to combating criminality.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the observance of the NCPW will be modified to comply with the government’s health and safety protocols like social distancing and avoidance of mass gatherings.

The NCPW Interagency Technical Working Committee proposed to hold activities via Zoom, a teleconferencing application, which starts with a kick-off ceremony, video clip-making contest for uniformed personnel as they prevent crime amid pandemic, webinars, and dissemination of other information and education materials relative to crime prevention.

NCPW said detailed activities will be announced soon. For more information, interested parties may contact the NCPW Secretariat at 897-6181 or 897-8902 or email cpcsnapolcomph@yahoo.com or cpid.cpcsnapolcom@gmail.com. (CPC/PIA-IDPD)
