PH wins FIBA Esports Open SEA Conference title

MANILA – The Philippines only needed a Game 3 win to clinch the FIBA Esports Open Southeast Asian Conference championship but still exited Day 2 with another two-match domination on Saturday night.

The Filipino side formalized their series win against Indonesia with a 66-34 Game 3 victory, but their dominance continued in Game 4 with a 79-44 rout after they pulled away in the second half.

Rial Polog's hot shooting in both games earned him Most Valuable Player honors for the night.

"Sabi lang talaga sa amin ni Coach (Nite Alparas), from first to fourth quarter, no mercy talaga. Kumbaga, ibibigay namin yung todo namin (Coach just told us that we should have no mercy from the first to the fourth quarter. This means we are bringing out the best we can do)," Polog said after the Game 4 rout.

The Philippines can complete the five-game sweep of Indonesia on Sunday night. (PNA)
