Cops nab 2, seize P1.3-M ‘shabu’ in NoCot buy-bust

COTABATO CITY – Police authorities arrested two alleged drug dealers and seized some PHP1.3 million in suspected shabu in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato on Friday.

Lt. Col. Lino Capellan, the spokesperson of the Police Regional Office 12 (Soccsksargen), identified those arrested as Benjie Akmad Walao and his cohort, Rahib Ebrahim Acob.

Both were apprehended after engaging in an illegal drug transaction with a poseur-buyer at 8:30 a.m. in Purok 6, Barangay Banucagon in Pigcawayan.

“Both did not resist arrest,” Capellan said.

Seized from them were eight big sachets of suspected shabu valued at PHP1.3 million, a .45-caliber pistol, one pile of counterfeit money, the genuine PHP1,000 bill that served as marked money, drug paraphernalia, and a motorcycle.

The recovered items are now under the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 12, while the suspects face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
