DTI inks commercial partnership agreement for RAPID Growth project
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Oct 8 - A Commercial Partnership Agreement (CPA) has recently been signed between the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Rural Agro-enterprise Partnership for Inclusive Development (RAPID Growth) Project.
This was represented of RAPID Growth by Mr. Eriberto A. Taban-ud, Provincial Director, Paglambu Land Care- Kaatu-an Cluster represented by their Chairman, Mr. Allan Camanian and the Linear Coffee Roaster by their CEO, Mr. Rolando P. Mirondo, in a ceremonial signing on October 7, 2020.
The agreement formalized the project's goal of building a sustainable commercial partnership between small coffee farmers and coffee processors in the region. In detail, Paglambu Land Care as an association of coffee farmers based in Barangay Kaatuan, Lantapan Bukidnon commits to supply at least 75% of its production of cherries and green coffee beans-specialty grade.
Linear Coffee Roaster as an anchor firm, in coordination with DTI, commits to assist in the provision of technical assistance in the production and post-harvest proccesses of the coffee farmers.
On the other hand, RAPID Project will facilitate provision of necessary value chain-based development interventions, provide conditional matching grant and facilitate credit brokering to support the realization of this partnership agreement.
RAPID Growth is a 5-year development project of DTI, funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) with a counterpart support from the Government of the Philipppines, Local Government Units and Financial Service Providers (FSP). (RAPID Growth 10)
