NV school board okays P32.9M budget

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Feb. 26 (PIA) - The Provincial School Board (PSB) recently approved P32.9 million as its budget for this year.

Governor Carlos Padilla said the Special Education Fund (SEF) will fund additional personnel, honoraria, purchase of instructional materials, repair of school facilities and construction of additional Day Care Centers.

"This will provide funding assistance for various projects that will improve and enhance our educational programs and services to our young children," he said.

Padilla said that out of the P32.9 million, P8 million has been set aside for education personnel augmentation and technical support and P2.4 million for the honorarium of 482 Early Child hood Care and Development (ECCD) teachers.

The 2021 PSB budget will also be used for the procurement of instructional materials, such as modules, printing materials and communication expenses amounting to P4.8 million and P1.5 million for the purchase of computer sets.

The PSB budget also gave P7.2 million for the repair and rehabilitation, water and sanitation and school building.

The construction of a Day Care Center in barangay Sinapaoan in Sta. Fe town and a Special Education Center building in Dupax del Sur town will also be funded with P1.6 million and P4.5 million respectively.

"While there were no allocated funds for the construction of school buildings for 2021, the unimplemented 2020 infrastructure projects under the Supplemental Annual Investment Program(SAIP) will be implemented," Padilla added. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
