NegOr reports more Covid-19 recoveries
DUMAGUETE CITY – The province of Negros Oriental has recorded more recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion, in a virtual press briefing Tuesday afternoon, said five recoveries were logged on Monday, April 6, and 23 others on March 31 and April 1.
Estacion, also the health committee chair of the province’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), said there are 13 new confirmed cases from Dumaguete City (three), and Bais City, Amlan, Pamplona, Ayungon, Zamboanguita, Sibulan, Guihulngan City, Bacong, Valencia, and Tanjay City (one each).
There was also one death reported from Siaton, a 65-year-old-male from Barangay Bonawon with comorbidities, she added.
As of Tuesday, April 7, the total caseload of Negros Oriental is 2,019, broken down into 137 active cases, 1,823 recoveries, and 59 deaths.
The total number of individuals tested has reached 37,924, including repeat swabs and still pending results, Estacion said.
She reiterated that the spike in cases in the past weeks is largely due to the easing of border restrictions that allows more travelers to return or come to Negros Oriental. (PNA)
