Cebu police seizes P2-M shabu in separate ops

CEBU CITY -- More than PHP2-million worth of shabu was confiscated by police in two separate anti-drug operations in Cebu City.

Senior Police Officer 1 Neil Lavezares of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Public Information Office said Friday the first drug-bust operation was carried out in Barangay Kamputhaw, where Patrick Talon Casicas, 29 and Benny Jane Talon, 37, were arrested past 10 p.m. Thursday by elements of the CPPO Drug Enforcement Unit headed by Chief Insp. Chuck Barandog III.

Recovered from Casicas and Talon were 110 grams of suspected shabu, which has an estimated value of PHP1.33 million, Lavezares said.

In another operation, he said that three drug personalities were apprehended in Barangay Mambaling past midnight Friday.

The suspects were identified as Marivic Gonzalve Deguitos, 29; Aljay Cantillas Lahaylahay, 27; and Rosemarie Delfin Batongbacal, 25.

The subject of the operation was Deguitos, in whose house, Lahaylahay and Batongbacal were caught having a pot session.

Seized by members of the Pardo Police Station from the three suspects were PHP700,000 worth of suspected shabu. (PNA)
