NBI nabs 18 Chinese nationals in Pampanga gambling den

MANILA--The National Bureau of Investigation's Cybercrime Division (NBI-CCD) on Friday announced the arrest of 18 Chinaese nationals for access device fraud and online illegal gambling in Angeles City in an operation last March 18.

NBI Director Dante Gierran said the individuals were arrested by virtue of a search warrant issued by the Capas, Tarlac regional trial court Branch 66 against the Royal Genghis International Development Inc. located at Savers Mall, McArthur Highway, Balibago, Angeles City.

Mobile phones, desktop computers, laptops, skimming devices and various debit cards, as well as unused SIM cards and flash drives were seized in the operation.

The arrested individuals, whose identities are still being verified, were brought for inquest at the Office of the State Prosecutor for violation of Republic Act No. 8484 or the Access Devices Regulation Act and Presidential Decree 1602, which provides stiffer penalties for gambling. (PNA)
