25 nabbed in 8 drug ops in NegOcc cities

BACOLOD CITY -- A total of 25 persons were arrested and more than PHP800,000 in suspected shabu was seized in eight operations in the cities of Bacolod and Silay, Negros Occidental in the past three days, police records showed.

In Bacolod, a 16-year-old boy, who sold PHP500 worth of shabu, was arrested by personnel of Police Station 3 in Purok Tahong, Barangay 2 early Thursday.

During the operation at 2:30 a.m., the minor yielded four sachets more with an estimated value of PHP225,000.
Earlier at 1:53 a.m., personnel of Police Station 4 apprehended Guinever Agsam, a street-level target, in Purok Mainawaon, Barangay 19.

Operatives recovered from Agsam, 22, seven sachets of shabu valued at PHP69,000 after he sold a sachet for PHP500 to a police poseur-buyer.

Luis Capalihan, a high-value target, was arrested by operatives of Police Station 1 in Purok Mapinalang-gaon, Barangay 35 at about 1 a.m. Thursday.

Capalihan, 47, who sold PHP300 of shabu to an undercover policeman, also yielded eight sachets of the prohibited substance valued at PHP70,000.

On Wednesday, 17 residents of Bacolod, including street-level target Joey Yap, 39, and high-value target Glenn Yap, 53, were arrested in Purok Pili, Barangay 8.

The operation, conducted by personnel of Police Station 7 at about 4:15 p.m., led to the recovery of 21 sachets of shabu valued at PHP120,000.

On the same day, Jolo Tiberio, 18, was arrested by operatives of Police Station 9 during the Oplan Galugad in Purok Katilingban, Barangay Punta Taytay.

At about 12:30 a.m., Tiberio yielded a sachet of shabu worth PHP3,000, an improvised firearm with live ammunition, and a bullet for caliber .38 revolver.

Over in Purok Narra Baybay, Barangay 8, operatives of Police Station 8 arrested Joel Urbanuzo who sold PHP200 in shabu to a poseur-buyer also at about 12:30 a.m.

Recovered from Urbanuzo, 28, were four sachets of the same prohibited substance worth PHP15,000.

On Tuesday, Rodget Bantad, 35, and Renante Amihan, 40, were arrested by operatives of the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit in Purok Chereza, Barangay 27 at about 10:30 p.m.

Bantad was caught red-handed selling PHP1,000 in shabu to an undercover policeman and yielded five sachets more worth PHP156,000.

Meanwhile, in Silay City, Jerome de la Cruz, was arrested by city police operatives in Purok Mangingisda, Barangay Guinhalaran at about 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday.

De la Cruz, 29, who sold PHP3,500 in shabu to a poseur-buyer, was also found in possession of 10 grams of shabu valued at PHP150,000. (PNA)
