Ifugao town officials sworn into office
LAGAWE, Ifugao, June 27 (PIA) - - Elected municipal officials of this capital town of the province are now ready to assume their respective functions next week after they were sworn into office on Tuesday.
Judge Pascual Kimayong, Jr. of Branch 14, Municipal Trial Court administered the mass oath taking of the officials led by re-elected Mayor Martin Habawel, Jr. and Vice Mayor-elect Reynold Kimmayong, witnessed by their families, supporters and other spectators.
The Sangguniang Bayan members are Marlon Bandao, Neil Wangiwang, Homa Liwayan, Angel Taguiling, Davis Pulao, Tejano Balinon, Gregorio Dangayo, and Wilson Bumanghat.
They swore to perform their duties and responsibilities in accordance to existing laws and no plan of evading their mandates for the benefit of public service and for nation building as a whole.
The vowed to promote harmonious working relationship among themselves to achieve a progressive and peaceful place where people can live and enjoy the God-given blessings of the municipality.
In his speech, Habawel underscored the importance of developing or openings of farm to market roads (FMRs) in the different barangays to boost economic growth.
With the improvement and opening of more FMRs, all kinds of products will be easily delivered to the town center. “The people in the far flung barangays will not be hard-up in delivering their produce to the market and we hope also that the public market building will be completed next year,” he stated.
Out-going Vice Mayor and now Sangguniang Panlalawigan member-elect Ceasario Cabbigat turned-over the key of responsibilities to Kimmayong. He enjoined the new set of officials to work for the benefit of the people.
He also thanked the people of Lagawe and employees of the municipal government for the support they had extend to his administration. (JDP/MBL- PIA CAR, Ifugao)
