PNP to build P15-M regional office in Koronadal

GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- The Philippine National Police's Internal Affairs Service (IAS) in Region 12 (Soccsksargen) is set to construct a PHP15 million office in Koranadal City.

Col. Bernardo Mendoza, IAS-12 acting director, said Friday initial preparations are ongoing for the building of its office at the Region 12 Prime Regional Center site in Barangay Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City.

He said the city government of Koronadal, which owns and maintains the site, has donated a 400-square meter lot for their office building.

The city government, through Mayor Peter Miguel, issued the deed of donation earlier this week for the property, he said.

Koronadal City, the capital and component city of South Cotabato, is the regional seat and center of Soccsksargen.

Mendoza said they are targeting to start the implementation of the project before the end of the year.

"This will mainly improve our overall operations and service delivery," the official said in a statement.

The IAS-12, which is based in this city, handles the regular inspection and audit, as well as the investigation of complaints against regional police personnel and units. (PNA)
