Trough of LPA to bring scattered rain showers Thursday

MANILA -- The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) spotted off General Santos City in South Cotabato will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in some parts of the country Thursday.

In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was last observed at 520 kilometers east southeast of General Santos at 3 a.m.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorm.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said in its weather advisory issued at 11 a.m. on July 3 that the effect of the southwest monsoon or habagat has weakened. However, light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will still prevail over some provinces in Luzon.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 25-34 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 26-36 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-23 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 24-32 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 25-30 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
