Naga City bares winners for Civic Parade, Float and Voyadores competition

NAGA CITY, Sept. 30 (PIA) –SM City Naga, once again, bagged this year’s Best Float award with the festive and colorful depiction of this year’s Peñafrancia theme “The Youth: Catalysts of Positive Changes in our Society, held, Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Plaza Quezon, here.

Quantrics Enterprises, Inc. or Quantrics was adjudged as the 2nd Best Float during the CIvic Parade and Float Competition held Sept. 19, 2019 at the Plaza Quezon, Naga CIty (JRmadrid-PIAV/Camarines Sur) 

Quantrics Enterprises, Inc., or popularly known as Quantrics placed second while PETRON, the largest oil refining and marketing company in the Philippines, got the 3rd place. Quantrics, a BPO company, opened its Naga branch early this year and had been a source of employment to the locals during the past months.

More or less 300 competing teams also vied for the Best Marchers and Best Riders Awards.  For the Best Marcher award, the Naga City Solo Parents Federation, Inc. was awarded the 1st place; Naga City Scholar’s Guild, 2nd and the Naga City QUEEN Federation grabbed the 3rd place.

Almost 100 bikers and riders also participated this year, spearheaded by City Mayor Nelson Legacion’s Naga City Bicycle Board, City Hall Bikers, and other organizations.   The Best Gimmick Award under the Best Marcher category goes to the Pinoy Predators Riders Bicol; Best in Uniform – Club SZR Philippines and the Most Discipline Awards was given to Kame Kame.

In the afternoon, various schools, both private and public, expressed their expression and interpretation of  how the image of Inang Peñafrancia is transferred from the Basilica Minore to the Metropolitan Cathedral through a street dance re- enactment.

This year’s top prize for the Voyadores Festival Street and Pilgrim’s Dance Competition went to Camarines Sur National High School (CSNHS) as over-all Champion.

Other winners for the said competition include: Naga Central School 2-1st Runner Up; Naga City School of Arts and Trades- 2nd runner up; Concepcion Pequeña National High School- 3rd runner up; Carolina National High School – 4th runner up; Don Leon Q. Mercado High School- 5th runner up; Tinago NHS- 6th runner up; Naga Central School 1- 7th runner up; Cararayan NHS- 8th runner up and Sabang Elementary School – 9th runner up.

Adjudged Best in Costume and Props is the Naga Central School 2 while CSNHS took almost all of the special awards after being announced as Best in Music, Best in Street Dance and Best in Pilgrim’s Dance.’”
