Pangasinenses make waves in national competitions

The Province of Pangasinan led by Governor Amado I. Espino III takes pride in the recent feats of Pangasinenses who have been making waves in the national center stage.

The beauty and wit of Pangasinenses, who carried the rich culture and tradition of the province, dazzled in various pageantries.

Mariz Songcuan, the 26-year-old mom from San Fabian, proved that the most beautiful mothers can be found in Pangasinan after she was crowned Mrs. Philippines Globe 2019.

Aside from the major beauty title, Songcuan also bagged other awards in the pageant, such as: Simone Swimwear Body Beautiful and Colours Woman of Style.

Hence, Songcuan will represent the Philippines in the international competition of the Mrs. Globe 2019 on December 2019 in China.

In “Miss Millennial Philippines 2019,” Limgas na Pangasinan 2019 queen Gwendoline Meliz Soriano won the Online Favorite Award.

This award echoes the strong support of the provincial government to Soriano, not only during the grand finals held in Meralco Theatre in Pasig City on October 26 but also during her weekly challenge.

The Pangasinan bet garnered 49,000 votes against Pampanga, her close competition in the said online-based award, who earned 43,000 votes.

Meanwhile, Vanjoss Bayaban, the rising singing sensation of Asingan town made it to the grand finals of the “The Voice Kids 4.”

Bayaban will join the final face-off on November 2 and 3. Bayaban is a product of the province’s local singing contest dubbed, “Takayan na Dayew ed Balon Panaon.”

Earlier this month, the provincial government reaped various citations during the 2019 Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines-Department of Tourism (ATOP-DOT) Pearl Awards.

Pangasinan has been a constant awardee in the ATOP-DOT, which recognizes the best practices, projects and innovations of local government units in their respective tourism industry.

This year, Pistay Dayat (Sea Festival) was awarded Best Tourism Event 1st runner-up under festival category while Agew na Pangasinan (Pangasinan Day) landed 2nd-runner also in the same category.

On top of these, the province was also Best Event Hosting 2nd runner-up and likewise conferred with Special Citation award for its Pasyar Pangasinan Tourism Integrated Route.
