Dacayo also acknowledged the efforts and support of the SWC in advocating the town’s ordinance prohibiting the use of non-biodegradable bags  in the municipality.

She said that with the completion of the plastic ban ordinance, the local government unit personnel can now proceed with the massive information campaign in the 22 barangays of Solano.

“I  wish to bring in the old days and practices of using leaves as our wrappers of the items that we buy so that we can reduce the use of too much plastic bags and items in our municipality. I am expecting everyone’s support,” Dacayo added.

According to the local chief executive, the Anti-Plastic Use Ordinance is one of the major local laws being pushed by the LGU to lessen the plastic consumption among the consumers in the municipality.

Dacayo further said that the LGU is in the process of establishing the Solano Integrated Agro-Tourism Center (SIATC) to promote organic products in the agriculture sector.

“This will also encourage and inspire our youth to pursue and take-up agri-related courses to sustain our main source of income as agricultural town and to boost our tourism potentials,” she said.

She further added the Pasalubong and Livelihood Center (PLC) which was assisted by Rep. Luisa Cuaresma will soon be in full operation to also help in the promotion and marketing of farmers’ products including the one’s being made by the town’s various livelihood organizations.

“We are still looking for more agro-tourism areas in our town as an income – generating project for our fellow Solanoans. We believe in our advocacy “ Isaisip, Isagawa at Isapuso Ang Serbisyo para sa Tamang Implementasyon ng mga Programa at Proyekto",”Dacayo said. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
