NYC steps up info campaign for the youth sector in Davao Region

DAVAO CITY, May 23 (PIA) – One of the invaluable resources during the COVID-19 pandemic is a dependable flow of information through established and dependable channels. This is especially true in terms of relaying timely and accurate information that is targeted towards the youth sector in the Davao Region.

That is why the National Youth Commission (NYC XI) has stepped up its campaign in delivering timely and relevant information in Region XI. The Presidential Staff Officer for the NYC XI Mayjee Dela Cruz emphasized how vital it is to be able to reach the majority of individuals who belong to the youth sector when it comes to information dissemination.

“To be able to reach out sa atong SK (Sangguniang Kabataan) ug sa atung mga kabatanunan, gi palawakan nato atong dissemination sa mga information (To be able to reach out to our SK and the youth sector, we widened our dissemination of information)” Dela Cruz said.

The NYC XI employs key strategies to inform the youth with regards to conveying the proper information to the youth sector while also being able to provide concise answers to the salient points in the fight against COVID-19.

“NYC utilized katong mga media platforms nato … naa pud ta’y stay-at-home campaign ug nag pahatag pud ta ug mga contest through online … para mapakita ang atong mga kabatanunan nag stay sa ilahang mga panimalay…mga inforgraphics pud nga intended sa pag provide sa mga responses sa various queries (NYC utilized various media platforms … we also organized a stay-at-home campaign and we also hosted an online contest … to show that our youth are also staying in their respective homes…we also have infographics that are intended to provide responses to various queries),” Dela Cruz added.

NYC XI also emphasized in their information drive the important public health safety protocols and other health practices that are in place to control the spread of COVID-19 around the Davao Region.

“Gina reiterate gyud nato ang nationwide call nga ang tanan mag stay-at-home and be conscious about physical distancing and katong mga hygienic practices at all times (We always reiterate the nationwide call for everyone to stay-at-home and be conscious about physical distancing and always maintain hygienic practices at all times),” Dela Cruz said.
