13 new cases bring Cordillera Covid-19 tally to 184

BAGUIO CITY – Confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the Cordillera Administrative Region soared to 184 with 13 new cases reported on Friday.

Based on its Covid-19 tracker, the Department of Health (DOH)-Cordillera said 10 new cases are from the province of Kalinga, two are from Baguio and one is from Benguet.

The new cases from Kalinga are five males aged 17, 33, 27, 38, and 31 and five females ages 28, 29, 18, 40, and four.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old female from Upper Irisan and a 42-year-old male from Aurora Hill are the latest cases here, the Public Information Office (PIO) said in an advisory.

In Benguet, the new case is a 44-year-old male.

The total number of Covid-19 cases in the region includes 60 active cases, 122 recoveries, and two deaths.

Baguio tops the list in terms of the total number of cases at 67, followed by Benguet, 52; Kalinga, 18; Abra and Apayao, with 16 each and Mountain Province, three.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong has again reminded residents “to be doubly conscious of the health and quarantine protocols to safeguard themselves from the disease.”

Magalong also urged residents not to wait for a worst-case scenario and to immediately seek medical attention when experiencing flu-like symptoms. (PNA)
