ISU San Mateo's new SSF to boost Mungbean Native Cake processing

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Feb. 26 (PIA) - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Isabela Provincial Office has turned - over a Shared Service Facility (SSF) for mungbean processing to Isabela State University (ISU) San Mateo campus.

ISU Campus Administrator Dr. Rosalie Leal said the SSF for the Mungbean Native Cake Processing and production will also enable the campus in making mungbean by-products such as  Mungbean Pancake , Empanada , Buchi and Puto.

She said they are inviting potential investors or processors eyeing to explore the business opportunities of the mungbean industry and promote the production of mungbean by-products to maximize the use of the SSF considering that San Mateo town is the country’s Mungbean capital of the Philippines.

Singun said the provision of SSF to groups, associations and to local government units is one of the many programs of DTI geared towards producing quality products for the people. 

The turn - over was made between DTI Isabela head Winston Singun and ISU San Mateo campus administrator Dr. Rosalie Leal last week and witnessed by DTI and ISU San Mateo officials. (BME/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
