LINGAYEN, Pangasinan Feb 23 (PIA) - The province of Pangasinan conducted a two-day orientation and planning workshop   for corona virus (COVID-19) Demand Generation and Vaccinators.

Dr. Cielo Almoite, assistant provincial health officer and officer-in-charge of the Lingayen District Hospital (LDH) said the activity is a series of orientation from various stakeholders.

“it is designed to give  right and accurate knowledge and  information about the vaccine for COVID-19 virus and for us to expand your understanding of this vaccination program,”  Dr. Almoite said during the orientation.

Held in two batches, the workshop was attended by personnel from rural health units  and municipal staff from different towns of the province.

The topics discussed are: pre-survey and post-survey results for Covid-19 vaccine program, overview on the provincial deployment and vaccination plan, profiling and data management, demand generation, Covid-19 vaccine administration, micro-planning/contingency plan formulation and presentation of activity plan, and the  vaccine immunization program.

Meanwhile,  in the Laging Handa Network Briefing episode, the local government of Davao De Oro,suggested the strengthening of information about the vaccine program.

“Our planning is on-going. The roll-out of the vaccination is very challenging, especially in provinces like us where barangays are far apart. We’re unlike highly-urbanized cities where people are dense or compact, “ Vice-Governor Carmen Zamora said.

Zamora said the problem foreseen in her province in the vaccine roll-out  is the distance of the barangays and location of storage facilities but is optimistic that her area can manage with the help of everyone.

“We are all first timers in this situation. What we do really need is a concrete plan and the cooperation of everyone to properly carry out vaccination in our area,” she added.  (JCR/VHS/RPM/PIA-Pangasinan)
