PARAΓ‘AQUE CITY, Feb. 23 (PIA) -- Taguig City is all set to roll-out its vaccination program to vaccinate all its citizens for free with 716 capable COVID-19 vaccinators ready to administer the vaccine.

The vaccinators--all doctors, nurses, and midwives--gathered for COVID-19 Vaccination Training organized by the City Health Office at the People’s Hall, SM Aura recently.

The seminar was conducted by Dr. Norena Osano, head of the City Health Office, and Dr. Jennifer Lou de Guzman, National Immunization Program Coordinator for the City of Taguig, together with cluster heads for health Dr. Marie Irene Sy and Dr. Cecille Montales.

Mayor Lino Cayetano also personally greeted and talked to the vaccinators during the training which was held in preparation for the city’s vaccination program which is set to cover all 1 million residents of Taguig, at no cost to citizens.

The city is set to provide a preview of its vaccination process through a dry run at Taguig Field Hospital in Lakeshore Mega Complex. Some of the trained vaccinators will be onsite for the demonstration along with actors to serve as stand-ins to receive the vaccines.

When the program is fully rolled out citywide, the vaccination team will be deployed in three mega vaccine facilities and community vaccination centers in every barangay.

The city will train more medical professionals for COVID-19 vaccinations if the need arises.

On January 5, the city government announced a P13.5-billion recovery budget for 2021, with P1 billion would be utilized for the vaccination program. Taguig also promised the end-to-end delivery system that would swiftly administer the supplies as soon as these are delivered to the city. (PIA NCR)
