Narra flitches recovered in Nueva Vizcaya

SANTA FE, Nueva Vizcaya--Santa Fe Police Station and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recovered on Friday 62 abandoned narra flitches in Sitio Mankati, Villaflores Village in this municipality.

Chief Insp. Carmelo B. Palos, town police chief, said the narra flitches were recovered by the police and personnel of the DENR Cagayan Valley product monitoring station based in Barangay Calilitan in Aritao, town.

The narra flitches were loaded in a black-colored Mitsubishi Pajero with plate number XRJ 888 and gray Toyota Prado with plate number XDR 749 , which were abandoned along a road.

Palos said the flitches were brought to the DENR Cagayan Valley monitoring station checkpoint in Barangay Calitlitan, for investigation and proper disposition.

“Illegal loggers defeat the purpose of the greening efforts of the government, Hence, strict implementation of Oplan Kalikasan must be observed so that violators will suffer the penalty,” Palos said. (PNA)
